Project 1 : Experiencing Construction

Reflection:

In group of seven , we are required to visit a construction site nearby to do documentation and analysis of the construction element under the guidance of site coordinator or contractor or architect or engineer. This is an interesting experience for us.

Learning Outcomes:

-Produce a complete documentation (pictures, sketches and drawing) and an analysis of
construction elements.

- Understand and explain construction elements and its components.

- Understand current construction technology on local construction sites.

-Explain current material and technology in relevance to the present construction industry.

Project 2:Construction Detail and Specification

Reflection:

This project is intergrated with the final project of design studio. I need to consider the construction details and methods when I do the design. Sometimes I trapped by my own design as there are something not pratical and I need to solve the problem I design. This is quite challenging and interesting. We need to do lots of study in construction methods and also the materials . Now I realised being an architect not so easy to survive.

Learning Outcome:

-Select suitable structural elements for their design project.

- Design and apply a structural element for their design project.
