Project: Case Study: Basic building design strategies

 

In this project we went on a trip to Singapore where each group were assigned a building. The building we got was the National Library Of Singapore. We had to do analysis of the passive ventilation and passive lighting systems used in this building and compile the information in two boards for submission. 

 

The objectives of this project are:

• To identify and define the principles of heat transfer in relation to building and people

• To understand what is thermal comfort and discuss factors relating to thermal comfort

• To analyze the effect of thermal comfort factors in a person and in a space

• To be able to criticize design of the space in terms of thermal comfort by referring to MS1525 , UBBL, GBI and Green Mark standards.
